The Bavarian Academic Forum – BayWISS is once again awarding a prize for:
"Outstanding or future-oriented research in individual scientific fields"
Entry is possible for doctoral candidates of all BayWISS' Joint Academic Partnerships who have not yet completed their doctoral thesis, via their supervisors. Applications can be submitted until 18 July 2025 to the coordinator of the responsible Joint Academic Partnership (depending on the joint academic partnership the date could be earlier; please enquire with your coordinator).
A jury made up of members of the steering committees of the various Joint Academic Partnerships will subsequently select three award winners from the submitted entries.
What is to be submitted?
- Entry form
- essay: max. 3 pages, approx. 12,000 characters (incl. spaces), in which the doctoral candidates describe the key research results of their doctoral thesis and their relevance to society as clearly as possible. The essay is to convince a jury who is not familiar with the research area
- university degree certificate
- tabular CV
- a short assessment of the entry by the supervisor which explains why the research is outstanding, whether due to special publications, patents, participation in conferences or similar.
The prize ceremony will take place during the Annual Colloquium on 17 October 2025 at Kempten University of Applied Sciences.
Please note! Award winners are asked to personally attend and present their projects.
