Practical orientation, internationalisation and intelligent use of resources are the focus of teaching and research at the system-accredited Hof University of Applied Sciences.
In the area of internationalisation the university's focus lies on India, with water and energy efficiency having priority with regard to the intelligent use of resources.
The wide-ranging and interdisciplinary range of studies extends from economy and economic law right through to computer science and engineering. Thanks to textile and design courses which are closely linked to business, Münchberg campus provides education that is one of a kind in Germany. Also High Franconian companies benefit from the competence centres and institutes run by the university. The six research institutes focus on information systems, circular economy of bio:polymers, materials science, hydrogen and energy technology, sustainable water systems as well as economic and organizational research.
The university provides both national and international courses in continuing academic education for professional and managerial staff; the programme includes on-the-job Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes, certificate courses, advanced academic training and seminars. The Bavarian-Indian Centre for Business and University Cooperation (BayIND) affiliated with Hof University of Applied Sciences coordinates and promotes cooperation between Bavaria and India. Students with an interest in start-ups or founding companies are advised and supported by the Digital Start-up Center Einstein1 at the university campus.
